Aussie Nash Hash 2011
Hobart, Tasmania - 25 to 27 February

Venue

We have secured No.1 Shed on Princes Wharf as the venue for Aussie Nash Hash 2011. The 'shed' has been home to the iconic Taste of Tasmania food and wine festival for the past seventeen years (so 'it' knows all about drunkards) and is about to undergo a major redevelopment to make it into a more useable public space.

We had originally booked a venue that overlooked the Derwent River and the Tasman Bridge, but when the registrations started flooding in we knew that we had to look for a bigger site.

We had to delay announcing the venue because the redevelopment has only recently finished the tendering phase. We know that once work starts, it has to be completed by December for this year's Taste. This works well for us because it will be a significant 'shakedown' for the new venue, with an estimated 500,000 people moving through the place during the one week festival (let's not get into a debate about how many heads, please).

The fine print here is that work has yet to commence and that if it doesn't start, we'll be at a different venue. Our contingency plans are all still within walking distance of the CBD.

Alas, for those who enjoyed being able to camp close to the venue in Cairns, it's just not an option here. There are dedicated caravan and campervan areas within ten minutes drive of the venue, but you'll have to arrange your own transport to and from.
